Pursuant to the Post-Secondary Educational Institution Act and the Interstate Distance Education Act, institutions operating in the state of New Mexico shall submit a substantial institutional Change Form immediately upon gaining actual knowledge of the institution's intent to the substantial changes but in no case less than 90 days prior to the substantial changes.
An institution that will have substantial institutional changes in either
- Location
- Organizational Structure / Ownership / Name of Institution
- Program(s)
- Opening of new branches
- Closing of branches
shall submit, pursuant to 5.100.7.13 (D), the appropriate Substantial Institutional Change Form and submit the administrative fee of USD 300.00. Upon verification of payment of the administrative fee, the Department will make a decision to approve or disapprove the substantial change within 10 business days.
